POSITION: Temporary Early Childhood Educator

SUMMARY:    Whale Spirit Early Enrichment Centre is a community based program, sponsored by Capital Families-West Shore, which offers enriched daycare to children in the West Shore. The ECE provides direct care to a group of children aged 3-5 and maintains the safety and well-being of these children in the Centre.

TERM:    8 months, November 23 – July 31.  Shift from 10am-5:30pm

PRE-REQUISITES:  Early Childhood Education Certificate, Early Childhood Education License to Practice, Infant/Toddler Under Three Certificate preferred

REMUNERATION:  35 hrs/wk, $15.23 & wage supplement with excellent benefit package. This is a maternity leave position at this time. This is a union position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in an inclusive early childhood setting
• Able to work well with day care team
• Able to maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to children and parents
• Must be willing and competent to complete assessments
• Must have experience and enthusiasm for working with families considered to be at risk.
• Must have proven reliability
• Highly Recommended: First Aid Certificate, Criminal Record Check, and Doctors Health Note
