Capital Families Association On-Line Auction

On behalf of the Capital Families Association, I would like to invite you to help us out and get a good deal in the process.

From November 16 to December 10, 2008, we will be holding an online auction. We have a variety of large and small art items available such as an African mask and carvings, a bone and bamboo chess set, a Mary Chapman prairie painting, onyx and wood carved items and unique whimsical pieces that would make fine Christmas gifts.

Proceeds from the auction will help us continue to help families in the Westshore through the programs and services of the Capital Families Association - www.capfamilies.org

It's easy to participate. At any time during the auction, simply visit www.gobid.ca, browse the items and place your bid. If you have the highest bid at the auction's end, we'll contact you and let you know to receive the item you've purchased.

This auction is taking place in partnership with GoBid, Canada's leading supplier of online auctions for not-for-profit organizations. Their high-level technical security means that any transactions and information will be safe. In fact, for processing payments, they use IATS, which is a division of Ticketmaster Canada.

We hope you will take the time to support our auction and the work we do at the Capital Families Association. Thank you, best regards and happy shopping!

Shelley,
Board Director,
Capital Families Association

1 April 2008

Dear Community Associates,

It is with a saddened heart and deep regard for our senior and elder community that we regretfully announce that the Volunteer Services Program will be eliminated from Capital Families Association as of April 15, 2008.

Since 1993 Capital Families has been proud to serve the citizens of the Western Communities with volunteer services that include driving seniors to medical appointments, friendly visitors, gardening, small repairs and the senior breakfasts and lunches. Because of increasing overhead costs and lack of consistent funding support, the extremely difficult decision was made to bring the program to a close.

We wish to thank the many volunteers and the dedicated drivers that have given so generously to the community over the years. We will miss serving the seniors and elders who have been so grateful for the little assistance we have given them.

Capital Families Association encourages all organizations and citizens to speak up in support of the needs of seniors in our communities.

Yours truly,

Prairie Escallier
Executive Director
